Louis Chevrolet was a Swiss race car driver. William Durant was a carriage maker who'd already founded (and lost) General Motors. Together they created Ford's greatest competitor. The small-block V8 became the most modified engine in history. The Corvette proved America could build a sports car. The Camaro answered the Mustang. Chevy is the customizer's brand — more hot-rodded, resto-modded, and drag-raced than any other nameplate.
