Kawasaki Heavy Industries built ships, trains, and aircraft before turning to motorcycles in the early 1960s. Where Honda made motorcycles approachable, Kawasaki made them fast and scary. The H1 Mach III two-stroke triple was nicknamed 'the Widowmaker' for good reason. The Z1 900 dethroned Honda's CB750 as king of the superbikes. The GPZ900R launched the Ninja dynasty. Kawasaki's DNA has always been raw performance over refinement — the company that would rather build a motorcycle that's too fast than one that's too polite.
