Land Rover
UK · Founded 1948
The original go-anywhere vehicle. Land Rover built the trucks that conquered deserts, jungles, and school parking lots.
Heritage
The original Land Rover was inspired by the Willys Jeep that British farmers used after WWII. Rover engineers created something even more capable — a vehicle that could cross continents, ford rivers, and climb mountains. The Defender became the choice of militaries, aid workers, and African safari operators. It also became a status symbol for people who'd never leave pavement. Both uses are valid. The Defender's rugged simplicity created a cult that the new aluminum-bodied version is still trying to satisfy.
